EAPIL Winter School: A Preview of the 2027 Edition

,

The EAPIL Winter School was established in 2024. The three editions organised so far attracted, globally, more than 80 participants, mostly PhD students, young academics and professionals, coming from 16 countries.

The courses, held at the Department of Law, Economics and Cultures at the University of Insubria, in Como, have resulted in collective volumes that will be published from June 2026 on.

In 2027, the EAPIL Winter School will be devoted to the challenges posed by technologies in European Private International Law. The course will deal with topics such as cryptocurrencies, online torts, digital assets and much more.

The format of the 2027 edition will differ, exceptionally, from that followed in the previous editions, as it will consist of a series of hybrid seminars that will take place between mid-January and the end of March 2027.

The programme is currently being prepared by the EAPIL Working Group overseeing the Winter School (which includes Silvia Marino of the University of Insubria, Anna Wysocka-Bar of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and Javier Carrascosa González, University of Murcia), and will be out in September 2026.

The Winter School will then be held again in the usual format in Como in 2028.
